What our UK members say:

'Professional standards are vital to the standing and credibility of Coaching as an emerging profession. The ICF is the only independent professional body with a track record of accrediting coaches to these rigorous standards and at a variety of levels. So I am proud to be designated a Master Coach by the ICF and consider it my responsibility to myself and my clients ( national and international, corporate and personal) to ensure that I continue to operate at that level......luckily the ICF makes sure I do that!'

MEETING ETHICAL GUIDELINES AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
- Dry as dust or simply sumptuous?

This is a teleseminar
with Elizabeth Ferguson, MCC
on Tuesday 30th January 2007 at 8pm UK time

Setting the foundation of the Coaching Conversation with Meeting Ethical Guidelines and Professional Standards sounds more than a bit dry! Or is it? Elizabeth Ferguson invites you to come and be intrigued, also challenged by the sumptuousness of this key competency.

Many coaches assume that they can just ‘tick the box’ on this competency and then move on to coaching ‘proper’. Well if that’s you, think again. Meeting the ethical guidelines and professional standards is the cornerstone on which all of our coaching relationships are based, be they individual clients or corporate contracts. As professional coaches you are constantly upgrading skills and techniques as you evolve, so why not be constantly revisiting your ethics and standards?

During this interactive teleclass, we shall explore
  • what it means to uphold a set of standards and ethics

  • how they might affect our decisions regarding clients and contracts

  • some real life knotty ethical dilemmas

  • Bring an open mind and be prepared to play with different ideas, perspectives and points of view.

    Elizabeth Ferguson, MCC

She has undertaken over 400 hours of coach specific training, including a post graduate diploma in Ontological Coaching, and has delivered 4000 hours of coaching. A past president of the ICF in the UK, Elizabeth's passion around standards in the coaching profession has led her to be Chair of the ICF International Credentialing Committee which is responsible for setting the standards for coaching around the world. She is also a trained assessor for the professional exam panel. Elizabeth and her team have trained and mentored over 1000 coaches world-wide and she is a recognised leader in her field."
