‘It’s important to me that I’m connected to (and accredited by) the most respected body in coaching worldwide. I have clients from all over the world and I believe it means something to them too. In addition, professionalising the profession is something all coaches should be committed to and this is one way of enacting that.’

THE ART AND SKILL OF CREATING AWARENESS
- Getting to the ‘so what’ in a coaching conversation

This is a teleseminar with Cindy Reinhardt, MCC
on Tuesday 25th September 2007 at 8pm UK time

Whether it is because coaches are overly polite by nature, have a need to be liked, want to keep the client coming back, or just lack proper training and competency, too many coaching conversations are mediocre at best. The conversation between coach and client generates very little, if any, new awareness for the client. Ironically, that’s what they are paying us for. We are supposed to bring a different observer to their concern, otherwise why work with us?

We bring new world views; we challenge the basic assumptions they have about how things really are; we question their intentions, motivations, beliefs and actions. We bring a space of observation, exploration and reflection so the client can arrive to new stories, interpretations and actions.

Creating awareness is one of the most critical competencies in coaching, and also one of the hardest to learn. It requires the coach to keep widening their own worldviews and continue learning in many different fields. Join Cindy Reinhardt, MCC in this session to explore how to get at the ‘so what’ in the coaching conversation.
