2. UKICF and UK ACTP Meeting with Ed Modell, ICF Global President 2011
Representatives of the ACTP’s who serve the UK market met this month with members of the UKICF board for their final meeting of 2010. 8 of the 12 schools were represented on the day. As usual, the meeting explored current trends in the UK coaching market, as observed by the training schools and the ICF, opportunities and ways of building a stronger UK coaching community. The outputs from the recent ‘ICF in Europe’ chapter leaders meeting in Latvia, was shared. As was the highlights of the recent ICF Global conference in Fort Worth. Ed Modell, incoming ICF Global President had been invited to attend, and he took the opportunity to share many of the most up to date thinking and initiatives that the ICF Global board are looking to launch in the near future. These include various initiatives on branding, with the launch of the ‘I Care For' campaign (link), membership criteria, leadership development, regulation and thoughts on collaboration with other professional bodies. It also provided the opportunity for the ACTPs to ask questions directly of the ICF global leadership, clarify approaches in certain areas ,and share some of their views, perspectives and aspirations with Ed. All agreed it had been a very useful meeting, and the start of even closer direct connections between the ICF global team and the ACTP’s, alongside that already facilitated by the UKICF board team. The next meeting between the UKICF and the ACTP’s will be held in Spring 2011.

We are trying to source the video for you to see, so will keep you posted in next month's newsletter. A range of international speakers took to the stage in addition to three of our very own UK Chapter member presenters - congratulations to John Whittington (Coaching Constellations), Jane Warrilow (Max Coaching) And Kathryn Pope/Altazar Rossiter (Projection in Coaching) !
