What our UK members say:

'Professional standards are vital to the standing and credibility of Coaching as an emerging profession. The ICF is the only independent professional body with a track record of accrediting coaches to these rigorous standards and at a variety of levels. So I am proud to be designated a Master Coach by the ICF and consider it my responsibility to myself and my clients ( national and international, corporate and personal) to ensure that I continue to operate at that level......luckily the ICF makes sure I do that!'

International Coaching Week 2010 7-14th February 2010

What is International Coaching Week?

International Coaching Week has been running since 1999, when it was created by an ICF member from Canada, Jerri N. Udelson, as the National Personal and Business Coaching Week. The idea has been gaining popularity ever since, and has become a great opportunity to:

• Educate people about the value of working with a personal, business or executive coach

• Enable coaches and their clients to acknowledge and publicize the results and progress made through coaching

Interview with Coaching Week founder Jerri Udelson

UK ICF member Claire Chapman has recently conducted an email interview with Jerri Udelson, the inspiration behind Coaching Week, to find out what inspired her and how you can get involved.

Please read the interview here

Coaching for Haiti

UK ICF member Dorothy Nesbit is offering her coaching clients a 10% discount during Coaching Week, which she’s donating to the Haiti relief fund. Or – if they forfeit the discount – Dorothy will match their 10% with 10% of her own that goes to the fund. She’s encouraging other ICF members to join her.

Coaching hour on Twitter

Claire Chapman is hosting a live free one-hour session on Twitter on Wednesday, 10th February, 16 – 17 UK time. If you’re already on Twitter, join the conversation; if not – why not set yourself a challenge to join other coaches in the discussion? Use the hashtag #ICW2010 to share your top coaching-related tips. Or ask Claire a coaching, supervision or social media question @coachclaire or @coachweek2010, and she will answer it live on Twitter on 10th February, 16 – 17.

Coaching social entrepreneurs

UK ICF member Ana Karakusevic offered three free coaching sessions on Wednesday, 10th February, for members of the London social entrepreneurs network The Hub. The sessions were booked within 5 minutes of going live and Ana will now do four more free coaching sessions on Thursday, 11th February. The Hub is a network, meeting and working place for young social entrepreneurs, owners of small or medium-sized companies dedicated to making the world a more sustainable place.
