Ministry of Entrepreneurship - KidsCo Pioneers - Leadership/Coaching Development Programme

The Association for Coaching (www.associationforcoaching.com) and the UK ICF (www.coachfederation.org.uk) are proud to announce a joint collaborative venture to provide coaches to support young people and members of staff at KidsCo (www.kidsco.org.uk).

About KidsCo

KidsCo is one of the UK's leading charities founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996. They provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children. Their services reach 14,000 children across London, including the most deprived and at risk whose parents are unable to care for them due to their own practical and emotional challenges.

Social Innovation in the Community

The AC and ICF have both respectfully developed social innovation strategies that aim to ensure that coaching reaches out into local communities on a global scale. The aim is to make a profound, lasting and positive impact for members of society that would not normally gain access to coaching support. This collaborative initiative highlights both organisations' commitment to collaborative partnerships that work towards a common purpose of making a positive difference in the world at large.

About the Pioneers Programme

In May of this year 11 young people from Kidsco visited Embercombe (www.embercombe.co.uk) where they experienced a deeply experiential and impactful coaching and leadership development programme. The programme was funded by £8,000 worth of donations from a number of individual contributors including Rafael Lopez , Simon Coops, Carlo Malka, David Mann, Tracy Cooper, Colin Daniel and Darren Robson - we would like to thank each of these individuals for the generosity and contribution.

The programme was designed to allow the participants to learn new skills, acknowledge their strengths/talents, and to provide the young people with leadership challenges that would enable them to grow new ways of being and leading in the world.

The next stage of this programme includes each of the pioneers receiving a 6 month individual coaching with an AC or ICF coach. The focus of this work will be on taking their vision into action and moving their lives forwards at an accelerated rate. We want to recognise the generosity of the coaches involved in this programme all of whom are offering their time at no cost.
