Inspirational Conversation - Hot Coaching Topics

UK ICF
Professional Development,
as part of the Evolving the Coaching Conversation in Partnership series,
invites you to be part of this one day event in Bristol
sponsored by LloydsTSB
Hot Coaching Topics – fact or fiction
on 17 September 2008 from 10am – 4.30pm UK time

Have you ever been to a conference and come away wishing you had asked that question, had that conversation, indulged in that discussion, felt frustrated at the cutting short of a discussion, had more time for everything? Those who attended Bristol June 13, London October 10 and Bristol June 19, from their feedback, would certainly say yes.
Hence the concept of this day which will be the ‘conversation place’ providing the perfect opportunity to discuss, debate, unravel confusion, share experience, extend knowledge, question, deliberate upon the current and potential Hot Coaching Topics.
It will be a presentation free zone! The experts will be yourselves.
The richness that will emerge will astound us all and certainly shift the concept, view and practice of coaching to the next curve.
If you are a coach, internal or external, a corporate buyer of, or interested in finding out about, coaching, an SME, a coaching school this invitation is for you. A time and place for pure conversation is on offer.
The desired outcome from the day is twofold: a one pager on each Hot Topic plus everyone to have enough fabulous conversations and at the end of the day feel satisfied at what will have been achieved.
Amongst the Hot Coaching Topics on the table – and you can influence the final list for the day –are:- Supervision – a common language or a foreign one? What is the state of play?
- ROI – qualitative or quantitative measures or …, what works and how?
- Coaching is a magic bullet. What do you think?
- Manager as coach or manager with a coaching perspective? What is possible or realistic? What are the key issues and learnings in this duality?
- Where next for coaching? How will it emerge in the next decade? Developmental or remedial?
- Conducive to coaching: what makes an organisation’s climate conducive and what factors or forces might make it no longer possible?
- Mix and match: Internal coaching – what are the issues? External coaching – what are the issues?
- Performance – does coaching affect it? If so what is the process by which it does?
- SME’s – the challenges and the role of coaching
- And what might we have missed that is a Hot Coaching Topic? Please let us know at the email address below and we will make every effort to include your suggestion. Thank you.
There will be 6 Hot Coaching Topics from which you choose 3 options
In each session [2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon] 6 topics will run.
The conversation groups will have a maximum of 8 delegates in each to ensure everyone has enough time and space to think, listen, discuss and question.
Each group will have a facilitator
A graffiti break will be a hot spot following the afternoon session
The final session will be a report back re each topic collating the conversationsWhat an action packed day! Do come and join us for a very different experience and great fun!
