‘I love the opportunity to be accredited by an independent body which qualifies coaches to the very highest standards. This means that clients truly know that coaches who meet the ICF’s quality measure really are up to the job. This will do much for the future of our profession and for me as a professional.’

PUTTING THE CHICKEN IN THE CHICKEN SOUP:
What makes Coaching TRANSFORMATIVE?

This is a Mastery in Coaching teleseminar with Art Shirk
on Tuesday 10th July 2007 at 8pm UK time

The words “transformational” and “transformative” are very over-used – to the point that they almost no longer have real meaning. And yet, we all want for the results our clients experience to be, well, transformational, right?

In this session, we’ll explore what is really meant by transformative learning, and various modes of learning catalysed by coaching that prompt radical shifts not just in WHAT people know or learn but HOW people know or learn.

This session is experiential – during the call you will be asked to engage in coaching exercises or demonstrations.

Art Shirk
Art Shirk has been training leaders and coaches from around the globe as part of the Coaches Training Institute faculty for the past five years, and is currently CTI’s Vice President of Product Development. He also is a partner and lead consultant for Coaching Hall International – an accredited coaching school based in Bogota, Colombia in Latin America. In his own consulting practice, Art works with organizational leadership teams to build deep alignment and capability. He has held senior level organizational roles including Senior Director of Learning & Leading at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey, Vice President of Learning and Communications for Fidelity Investments and Business Development Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation.

In addition to providing consulting and coaching services to organizations, Art has been a faculty member of the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Education, and the Capella University MBA program. He is currently a faculty member of the Coaches Training Institute based in California, and of Coaching Hall International based in Bogota Colombia. Art received his doctorate in education from the Department. of Organization and Leadership at Columbia University Teachers College and his MBA from Boston University.
