What our UK members say:

'Professional standards are vital to the standing and credibility of Coaching as an emerging profession. The ICF is the only independent professional body with a track record of accrediting coaches to these rigorous standards and at a variety of levels. So I am proud to be designated a Master Coach by the ICF and consider it my responsibility to myself and my clients ( national and international, corporate and personal) to ensure that I continue to operate at that level......luckily the ICF makes sure I do that!'

INSPIRATION AND THE THINKING ENVIRONMENT

This is a teleseries (you can only book the series)
with Nancy Kline
on 16th September, 15th October, 3rd November 2008
at 12:30-1:30 pm UK time

INSPIRATION and THE THINKING ENVIRONMENT®

‘What do you value most about being a Coach,’ I asked each participant on our Coaching Course recently. One Coach answered, ‘It is the moment of real change; the ineffable experience of moving with my client to a new view of their world; it is the recognition of being profoundly in synch. It is inspiration.’

And ‘What do you value most about being coached,’ I asked the same group. ‘It is the moment of seeing the world differently; the gut experience of change; it is the lifting of the horizon. It is inspiration.’

Coaching at its best, both in giving and receiving, is exactly inspiration.

During the three sessions of this teleseries with Nancy Kline, you will explore the elements in coaching that virtually always produce inspiration.

Specifically, you will grow to understand how each of the Ten Components of a Thinking Environment contributes to this high-quality coaching experience. You will hear the wondrous workings of the human mind when it is treated to uninterrupted, palpably respectful Attention. You will watch it fly. And you will see also how penetrating a particular kind of question, The Incisive Question™, can be, producing over and over again the moments of ‘being profoundly in synch,’ with your client, of seeing the world differently, of producing real change.

People who coach in a Thinking Environment inspire and are inspired, continuously. And their clients report experiences of inspiration they have seldom known before.

Getting a practical glimpse into this process, once a month for three months, should leave you inspired, too.

The three hours will be structured roughly this way:
  • Welcome

  • Opening remarks

  • Introductions, reflecting on inspiration

  • Three of the Ten Components, in theory and why they inspire

  • Demonstration of a Coaching Session, including explication of the process

  • Questions and Reflection

  • Appreciation
The ICF Core Competencies that will be covered:
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11

Nancy Kline

Nancy Kline is President of Time To Think, an international leadership development and coaching company. She is also a published author and public speaker.

Nancy created and pioneered the development of the theory and process called The Thinking Environment®. This model allows people to turn their teams, organisations and relationships into Thinking Environments in which people at every level can think for themselves, with rigor, imagination and courage. The process increases the quality of thinking in, and thus of concrete results from, all human interactions, both in pairs and in groups, and decreases the amount of time it takes to achieve them.

Nancy and the other Time To Think Consultants and Coaches do Thinking Environment work in companies, universities, human resource organisations, government agencies and voluntary organisations. Thinking Environment work is active in the UK, Ireland, the United States, and South Africa.

Time To Think began in 1984 and grew out of Nancy’s consulting and teaching work near Washington, DC, where she had served as a Founding Director of The Thornton Friends School for twelve years and as Director of The Leadership Institute for six years.

Nancy is an American, married to an Englishman. They live in Oxfordshire.

This Teleseries will give you 3 CCEU hours.
