Our Board of Directors

All UK ICF Board Directors are professional credentialed coaches who volunteer their time to support the advancement of the coaching profession in the UK.

There is a formal interview and election process and Directors usually take a minimum term of two years.

If you are interested in becoming a future Board Director, please contact the current President for an initial discussion.

Sarah Gornall

President

Sarah Gornall

Clients describe Sarah as calm, wise and knowledgeable. Coaching takes her into a wide range of environments, which keeps her on her toes and working at her best. An experienced executive coach, supervisor, mentor and trainer, Sarah also draws on years of experience in highly accountable leadership positions, and knows first- hand what it is like to have huge targets to deliver in a tight time scale. Discovering how coaching could help her pass less of the pressure down to her team was both a great relief and a motivator to learn those skills herself.

Sarah had two years with the professional development portfolio on the Board before moving to the role of President Elect. She wants UK ICF to be an organisation that members are proud to belong to and saw increasing the range of webinars and delivering Core Competency workshops in different regions as a step towards this.

Previous leadership roles include Director of Bristol Education Action Zone, Chair of the Board at St George’s Bristol, an international concert venue, and national Co-Chair of Mothers for Peace.

In recent years, Sarah has developed a hidden desire to write and has co-authored three books, one on new approaches to learning and two on coaching. Maybe there are more cooking!

Languages, family, music and travel fire Sarah up; green spaces and yoga help her keep in balance. She speaks French, Spanish and Russian (to varying degrees) and has a diverse and globally dispersed family. Accredited by the ICF at PCC level, she holds Diplomas in Performance Coaching and NLP as well as Certificates in the Psychology of Coaching and in Coach Supervision.
