Sarah Gornall

President Elect

Clients describe Sarah as calm, wise and knowledgeable. Coaching takes her into a wide range of environments, which keeps her on her toes and working at her best. An experienced executive coach, supervisor, mentor and trainer, Sarah also draws on years of experience in highly accountable leadership positions, and knows first- hand what it is like to have huge targets to deliver in a tight time scale. Discovering how coaching could help her pass less of the pressure down to her team was both a great relief and a motivator to learn those skills herself.

Sarah had two years with the professional development portfolio on the Board before moving to the role of President Elect. She wants UK ICF to be an organisation that members are proud to belong to and saw increasing the range of webinars and delivering Core Competency workshops in different regions as a step towards this.

Previous leadership roles include Director of Bristol Education Action Zone, Chair of the Board at St George’s Bristol, an international concert venue, and national Co-Chair of Mothers for Peace.

In recent years, Sarah has developed a hidden desire to write and has co-authored three books, one on new approaches to learning and two on coaching. Maybe there are more cooking!

Languages, family, music and travel fire Sarah up; green spaces and yoga help her keep in balance. She speaks French, Spanish and Russian (to varying degrees) and has a diverse and globally dispersed family. Accredited by the ICF at PCC level, she holds Diplomas in Performance Coaching and NLP as well as Certificates in the Psychology of Coaching and in Coach Supervision.

Lisa Face

Lisa began her varied career in the British Civil Service’s Department of Trade and Industry helping entrepreneurs set up in business, before retraining as a teacher specializing in Science teaching overseas. As Head of Science and a Curriculum Development Leader, Lisa recognised the power of positive affirmation, encouragement and coaching as ways to increase professional performance and organisational improvement. After her role as a PGCE teacher trainer, Lisa reviewed her life purpose and heeding her friends’ push to play to her ‘people builder’ strengths she transitioned into the exciting world of coaching.

Lisa describes herself as an ICF ‘geek’ ever since she joined ICF Global in 2011 following her coach training with Coach U. She became an active member of the Dubai Chapter in 2012, participating in ICW, PD events and ‘having a lot of fun’ as a delegate experience committee member at the Chapter’s 2014 conference. Lisa is a strong advocate for membership involvement, ethics and the ICF credentialing process. Being a member of an internationally recognised professional association makes perfect sense to Lisa and her clients who increasingly expect professional grade coaching supported by credentials.

Lisa provides a range of coaching services in her capacity as an executive, career and mentor coach believing her coaching ethos of exploring possibilities and embracing change supports others professionally and personally. Her innate belief in the human potential, her ability to build rapport and her strong call to action are some of qualities which she brings to the Chapter in support of its members and the coaching profession.

Lisa is accredited by the ICF at the ACC level and she has set the PCC goal in her sights for 2017! She is a Licensed Firework Career Coach and Certified Human Behaviour Consultant (DISC). Lisa also holds certificates in Coaching in Education and has a strong PD portfolio including ethics, mentoring and coaching skills.

Lisa exchanged her expat life in the hot sun of the Middle East for the charming and pretty, rolling hills of West Somerset. Embracing country living with exploring the beauty of the area helps Lisa to stay ‘balanced’ and grateful: driving behind tractors in narrow lanes helps her develop patience!
