Working with goals and enabling progress are vital to success in coaching. We will explore what really matters in planning and goal setting and the managing of progress and accountability. We will look at research in these areas and challenge some assumptions and accepted beliefs with a view to opening up new perspectives and ways of working that are psychologically informed, practical and creative, linking what is important to the coachee with emerging possibilities. The emphasis will be on exploring ways of making sense of these core coaching competencies that put the human being, their identity, their story and what matters to them at the heart of how we work.

Key Outcomes:

  • Reconnect with why these competencies matter
  • Challenge and rethink assumptions about goals in coaching
  • Begin to grow a richer understanding of how human beings change
  • Explore creative possibilities for helping people move towards goals that matter to them
