Introduction of the limbic system – the part of the brain focused on survival. A model will be presented to help understand what factors the limbic brain is monitoring. These factors can create fear reactions on one hand or inspiration on the other.
Then participants will be introduced to the ABC model (Awareness, Breathe, Choose) which they can use with clients to help find tap into a space of mindfulness and access a wisdom self.
- Understand some basics brain functions, especially around emotions.
- The emotional brain creates motivation and inspiration which is not sustainable
- We need to be able to calm the emotional, reactive brain in order to tap into our wisdom self. It will require some non-judgemental awareness, or a mindful state. Participants will be guided through an experience of this state.
